Indian Coal Minister Goyal appointed to lead Railway Ministry

Over the past four years, our engagement with the Indian government has grown, culminating earlier this year as our Integrated Coldry Demonstration and Matmor Pilot project advanced to the highest echelons of India's project approval processes; NITI Aayog (National Institution for the Transformation of India Committee).

Through that process, we've established relationships with key government officials across several departments, including Mr Piyush Goyal, Minister for Coal, Power, Mining and Renewables.

The Times of India has reported that Minister Goyal has been promoted in recognition of the superb job he has done in improving operations in India’s Coal, Power, Mining and Renewables ministries. While he has passed the baton to others on Power, Mines and Renewables, the continuity of his leadership at the Ministry of Coal is welcomed by ECT.

We wish the Minister well with his new appointment to Railways and look forward to continued engagement and support with him for our India project with partners NLC and NMDC.
