ECT Chief Executive Kos Galtos and Coldry Business Manager Ashley Moore attended World Clean Coal Week ‘China Focus’ in Beijing recently (29th Nov to 3rd December).
The forum provided insight into where the coal tech industry is headed in China and gave ECT the chance to present Coldry to new players and follow up on previous discussions held at the ‘Advanced Coal Chemical Summit’ in Inner Mongolia a few weeks back.
The event proved highly productive, providing a forum to engage in direct discussions with:
- Three of the top 10 power companies
- Two of the top 5 coal groups
Directly resulting from these meetings we have already received coal samples and are in early stage discussions around various opportunities including coal supply agreements, local partnering and plant investment.
Business Development Manager Ashley Moore commented, “The calibre of the companies we’re now engaged with in China is encouraging. We’re stepping through technical evaluation to determine which coal resources are suitable for our Coldry technology and from there will assess the business case on a project-by-project basis”.
China represents a tremendous opportunity for our technology. We’re looking at various opportunities with resource owners and power station groups in addition to potential strategic partners in the engineering and construction sectors.
