ECT hosts press conference for Premier's team at Yallourn site

ECT Managing Director Glenn Fozard (left, rear) hosted Victorian Premier Dan Andrews, Energy Minister Lily D'Ambrosio, Regional Development Minister Harriet Shing, local Labour Candidate Dr Kate Maxfield and original SEC employees at a press conference today.

Earlier this year, ECT purchased a site adjacent to the Yallourn power station for its proposed net-zero hydrogen refinery project.

The property included the heritage-listed Yallourn Power Station Administrative Building, shown below.

The building served as the original State Electricity Commission (SEC) headquarters following its construction in 1923.

Little did we know when we acquired the property that we'd be hosting a press conference with the Premier and his team to detail how they plan to bring back the SEC.

Politics can be polarising, we understand. But we're honoured to be asked to host the Premier and his team at the place where the original SEC began.

All going well, we hope to bring activity and life back to this old building as we provide economically sustainable solutions to help the Latrobe Valley pivot away from burning lignite to make electricity to using lignite to create clean hydrogen, battery active carbon, and agricultural char for soil health.
