Net Zero Hydrogen Project Overview

Overview: Net Zero Hydrogen Refinery Project

The Yallourn brown coal power station is scheduled to close in 2028.

This is all part of the energy transition as the state of Victoria gradually shifts away from the high-emission use of resources, to a net-zero future.

We're proposing the deployment of a net zero hydrogen refinery to help pivot this valuable resource away from high emission, low-value use, to higher value, zero-emission applications that deliver clean hydrogen, agricultural char, battery carbon and other downstream chemicals, like formic acid and fertiliser, supporting clean energy, soil health and critical minerals.
